🌻 “Interrupted Cycle” — A Photographic Study of the Sunflower's Transformation

This video is a photographic animation built from 16 images that document the development and decline of a sunflower bud, harvested just moments before opening.

Placed in a jar of water, the bud continues — for a few brief days — its biological program: cells expand, petals unfold. But separated from the root, the cycle is interrupted. It lacks the nutrients, hormones, and vital signals from the mother plant. The flower withers.

Through subtle movements and a slow rhythm, the video invites contemplation of time and transience. Each image is a pause, an observation, of what unfolds and what unravels. The text, both scientific and poetic in tone, guides the viewer like a silent narrative.
